Upon your arrival at the airport or railway station, you will be greeted and escorted to your hotel in Bhalukpong. After checking in, relax and unwind from your journey. Later, explore the impressive Kolia Bhomora Bridge, which connects Northeast India to the rest of the country, spanning the mighty Brahmaputra River. While its structural strength is notable, the view at dusk with the bridge illuminated against the red sky is particularly striking (note: photography is not allowed). Return to your hotel for a restful overnight stay.
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast before departing for Dirang. Your first stop is Tipi Orchidarium, home to over 7,500 varieties of orchids, beautifully displayed along the Bharavali River. As you travel onward to Dirang, you’ll pass through breathtaking landscapes and waterfalls, so keep your camera handy. After arriving in Dirang, enjoy a hot meal and freshen up. In the afternoon, visit the Apple Nursery, Kiwi Farm, the historic Dzong Fortress, and the renowned Dirang Hot Water Spring. End the day with a relaxing overnight stay at your hotel in Dirang.
After breakfast, your journey to Tawang begins with several fascinating stops along the way. First, visit the War Cemetery, a stupa-like monument honoring the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the Indo-Sino War. Next, cross the scenic Sela Pass, a mountain pass of great religious significance to Tibetan Buddhists, where ice skating can be enjoyed during the winter. You’ll also visit Paradise Lake, the picturesque Jang Waterfalls, and Jaswant Garh, a memorial commemorating the bravery of Jaswant Singh Rawat. Arrive in Tawang in the evening and check into your hotel for an overnight stay.
After a satisfying breakfast, set out to explore the gems of Tawang. Your first stop is Tawang Monastery, the largest monastery in India and the second-largest in the world. Next, visit Singsur Ani Gompa, a beautiful nunnery that houses 30 nuns. The Craft Centre is also on the agenda, offering insight into the traditional art and culture of Tawang. Finally, take a ride on the Tawang Ropeway for a breathtaking view of the town from 900 feet above. Return to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.
On the fifth day of your journey, enjoy a delicious breakfast before setting off on a full-day excursion. Highlights include the Bum La Pass, the stunning Madhuri Lake (featured in the movie Koyla and named after Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit), PTSO Lake, and the mesmerizing Nagula Lake, a frozen wonder during winter. After breakfast, you’ll head to Bomdila, with a stop en route at the scenic Nuranang Falls. Upon reaching Bomdila, check into your hotel and enjoy lunch. The afternoon you will be taken some of the region’s most gorgeous monasteries, including Gontse Gaden Rabgyel Lling Monastery and ThubChog Gatsel Ling Monastery. End the day by soaking in the panoramic views of the Himalayan ranges and snow-capped peaks. In the evening, you can explore the local markets before retiring to your hotel for the night.
On your final day, after breakfast, you will be transferred to Guwahati, the gateway to Assam. Upon arrival, you will be dropped at the airport or railway station for your onward journey, taking with you cherished memories of your Arunachal Pradesh adventure.
