Tour Highlights

Sach Pass (sometimes spelled Saach Pass) is a high-altitude pass in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district. It joins the valleys of Chamba and Pangi at an elevation of 4,420 meters. Because to the harsh terrain, bad roads, and highly unpredictable weather, it is regarded one of the most challenging passes to cross in the world. As a result, it becomes an ideal choice for anyone searching for some off-road adventure while staying away from the heavily trafficked Ladakh and Spiti.

It usually begins around the third week of June and closes in early October. During the season (late June to early October), the weather during way to the pass is pleasant, however it gets a little cooler between sunset and sunrise, especially at higher elevations. This area also happens to be one of the wettest in the country, so be prepared for frequent rain showers and slick roads. To get to the pass, one can use a number of alternative paths. You can either start in Dalhousie/Chamba and go via Bairagarh to Manali, or you can start in Manali and travel the other way around.

If you truly want to push your limitations as an adventurer, you can ride from Manali to Kishtwar via Killar on the northern edge of Himachal Pradesh. This route, often known as the cliff hanger route, is considered to be one of the most dangerous in the world. The route from Killar to Kishtwar is a 120-kilometer high mountain trail that runs through Jammu’s Kishtwar District. The almost totally off-road track, which is part of National Highway 26, goes alongside the Chenab River with no guard rails, a low overhanging cliff, and a 2000-foot plunge on one side. It’s not for the faint of heart, and it’s not recommended for beginner riders.
